An Old Joke

Warning:
I found the following joke in the September 1994 issue of
Reader's Digest. Those of you that know my interest in music
will understand why I am sharing this with you. For the rest of
you, I just hope it brings a smile to your day.

An American jazz musician and a
country-western singer, visiting a
small dictatorship, ran afoul of the
law and were sentenced to death by
firing squad. At dawn, they were led
to a courtyard, where the squad leader
asked the country-western singer if he
had a final request.

"I'd like to hear six choruses of
'Achy-Breaky Heart,'" the singer replied.
"I think that can be arranged,"
said the squad leader. Then he turned to
the jazz musician. "And your final request?"
"Please," begged the musician, "shoot me first."
